Former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings is set to broach the subject of her presidential ambitions on Tema-based radio station, Adom 106.3 FM. There have been speculations, agitations, claims and counter claims, and dodgy denials (plenty of them) about the former First Lady's intentions. Youth groups in the ruling National Democratic Congress - largely regarded as disgruntled Rawlings loyalists - have incurred the wrath of some leading members of the party by declaring their support for Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings. Some have even given the Rawlingses an ultimatum to field Nana Konadu as a contender for the NDC's flag-bearership position or risk going into political oblivion. Operating largely anonymously, the Friends of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings (FONKAR) even launched a website indicating they mean business - a form of direct challenge to leaders of the party who argued such actions were a flagrant violation of the party's rules. The outdooring of campaign posters drew sharp condemnation and criticism from the party's top echelons. Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings and her aides distanced themselves albeit tenuously from the posters but the rumours and speculations gained momentum. Today, she is billed to set the records straight. Catch her live on Adom FM's Dwaaso Nsem this morning, with show host Adakabre Frimpong-Manso. Story by Malik Abass Daabu/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
