The Ghana Airport Company Limited’s Divisional Union of the Public Services Workers’ Union of the Trade Union Congress has challenged the Company’s Board to make public, findings of the Investigative Committee.
This follows the Union’s decision to withdraw their services from 6 am on Friday, February 26, until further notice.
According to the group, the Company’s Board is attempting to shelve the report of an investigative committee that allegedly confirms that the Managing Director, Yaw Kwakwa is guilty of mismanagement and abuse of office.
Speaking on Joy FM’s NewsNite Thursday, the Divisional Chairman of the Union, Abdul-Issaka Bamba argued that if the Board is not covering for Mr Kwakwa then the Union that made the assertions must be informed about the findings.
He disclosed that the Union on several occasion has petitioned the Board for a copy of the investigative report but it has all fallen on deaf ears.
“We have representation at the Committee so we have an idea how the findings went. So these figures we brought out could not be disputed. So we have information that most of the allegations we levelled against him were found to be true.
“So if not, we are challenging them to make the document public to you. For you to look at it and tell me it is not true,” he stated.
Mr Bamba also defended the industrial actions his Union has decided to embark on.
In his view, it is a temporary disruptive action, that would save the Company tomorrow.
"We are not penalising anybody we want to save the Company because the waste that is happening today will be worse tomorrow.
"So passengers who will suffer for it temporary. It is will be better than what the Company has been witnessing for the past two years under the Managing Director," he emphasised.
