Rana Motors outdoors ultra-modern showroom in Tema

Users of Ford trucks in the country and the sub-region would enjoy superior after-sales services Rana Motors has opened an ultra-modern showroom in Tema industrial area estimated at about $2 million.

Speaking with JOY BUSINESS, International Manager of Ford Trucks Emrah Duman said the showroom should address the challenge.

Poor maintenance of heavy duty trucks usually attributed to the lack of genuine spare parts as well as inadequate post-purchase services have unduly increased the operation cost of owners, he said.

Commercial Sales and Marketing Manager at Rana Motors Ivaylo Kombakov urged the new government to institute better financial management policies to enable truck owners better maintain, or replace their old fleet.

Chief Executive of Rana Motors said the partnership with Ford in 2013 has proven to be a great success as it has helped both companies follow through and execute all their plans and programmes.

Rana Motors he added has “over 30 years experience in automobile dealership distributing strong vehicle brands such as KIA, Hyundai Commercial and Ashok Layland Trucks and Buses and this gives us the capacity to deliver quality services to customers of the Ford Trucks too.”

Minister for Transport Kwaku Ofori Asiamah who delivered the keynote addressed underscored the need for an effective and efficient transport system facilitated by high-quality roads in the promotion and the enhancement of business activities in the country, to the benefit of the economy.

The establishment of the showroom he said is timely to help address the challenge of the persistent breakdown of the over-aged fleet of heavy duty trucks especially, plying the highways and in most cases, causing road accidents.

He, however, appealed to Rana Motors and its partners to “come up with attractive packages that would enable and encourage commercial haulage operators to acquire these vehicles to renew their fleet and make their operations more effective and efficient.”

He further entreated the automobile industry to support the government in the operation and management of the Technical Training Centre.

They are to help in the training of skilled artisans to render prompt, reliable and satisfactory maintenance services to customers towards addressing the teething unemployment situation in the country.

He pledged the government’s support by providing the enabling environment for the private sector to complement the efforts of government in the provision of transportation as well as employment for Ghanaians.

Managing Director of Jonmoore International, a specialist logistics company lauded the move saying the presence of Ford and its accessories in the country will give customers options thereby help them get value for money as the after-sales-service will help bring the initial cost of the products down over time.

The newly improved range of Ford trucks with models such as 1843T tractor, 3543D (6x4) and the 4143D (8x4) tippers can be customized with transmission and cabin modules for on and off-road conditions.

The trucks come with 10mm 500Mpa chassis frame with a 10.3 liter 430PS powerful engine and Euro3 emission norms for the Ghanaian market.
