President Mahama has replaced his nominee for the Tourism and Creative Arts Ministry, Alhaji Abdul Rashid Pelpuo with Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare.
Alhaji Rashid Pelpuo’s nomination as head of one of the re-aligned Ministries was criticized by some players in the creative arts sector.
Film Producer Socrates Safo stated after the announcement of Mr. Pelpuo’s nomination that he might not be the right person for the job because he not familiar with issues of the industry.
It is unclear if the decision by the President to reassign Mr Pelpuo was influenced by the criticism.
The Wa Central MP has now been nominated as Minister of State at the Presidency, In-charge of Public-Private Partnerships.
Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare who now replaces him, was previously nominated as Minister of State at the Presidency.
