He was injured in a car crash Kpetomi Junction, near Tsito in the Volta Region on Monday.
The ambulance is expected in the country later today.
The Russian Chief Justice was involved in an accident on his way to Accra from Ho after opening a Ghana Bar Association conference on Monday.
The accident is said to have occurred when a tipper truck veered into the lane of Justice Lebedev’s convoy.
Deputy Information Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu tells Joy News the accident will not spark any diplomatic row between Ghana and Russia.
He said Justice Lebedev for now "continues to receive the best of medical attention" as the country awaits the arrival of the air ambulance.
He described the accident as "unfortunate and regrettable", adding that investigation is underway to bring the culprit to book.
