The Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Sammy Gyamfi has debunked claims in a Facebook post alleging his displeasure with the NDC youth for their choice of National Youth Organiser.

According to NDC Communication Officer, he does not own the Facebook page which was used to circulate the said information about George Opare Addo.

“The social media post circulating that I was disappointed in the NDC youth for voting for Opare Addo because he is affiliated to the NPP is not my account. I have no such Facebook account,” he said in an interview monitored on Joy FM's Midday News on Wednesday.

Mr Gyamfi said that they (he and Opare Addo) have a common goal and it will not be right to work against each other.

“We are all one, greed, selfishness will not take us to the polls,” he added.

The newly elected NDC Youth Organizer, George Opare Addo in an interview on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem, on Tuesday, December 13, said he had forgiven Sammy Gyamfi for campaigning against him.

Mr Opare Addo further stated that Sammy Gyamfi openly supported his contender, Brogya Genfi, for the National Youth Organiser position.

“I have no issue with who anybody chooses to support, but there are videos of Sammy Gyamfi using Julius Debrah’s name to campaign against me,” the NDC National Youth Organiser stated.

However, Sammy Gyamfi in his post on Twitter said that he committed no crime in rallying votes for Brogya Genfi.

"I committed no crime in supporting Brogya Genfi over you in the just-ended NYO elections. If this is the route you want to take, then bring it on.

"At the right time, you will get a befitting response to all the lies and gibberish you have been spewing", he wrote on his Twiter page.

It would be recalled that Mr Opare Addo polled 533 to retain the position while his contender, Brogya got 508 votes in a hot contest held in Cape Coast in the Central Region.

The NDC will on December 17, 2022, hold its 10th National Delegates Congress at the Accra Sports Stadium.
