Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distribution of Ghana, Senyo Hosi has criticized the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic by the sitting and opposition parties of Ghana, blaming them for encouraging stigmatization.
In an interview on Joy Prime Morning, Mr. Hosi criticized the government of Ghana and the various political party players for politicizing important issues that affect people's lives, apportioning the bigger blame on the members of parliament.
He stated emphatically, that he is criticizing the political scene as a whole; pointing out that politicians from both sides of the country's political spectrum have opted to hide their Covid-19 test status, out of fear that it would hurt their political campaigns.
"The problem in this country is that we make politics out of everything including common sense. It's very unfortunate, it's quite inappropriate. The government hasn't helped. When I talk about government I'm not talking about the sitting government, I'm talking about the whole political system" Mr. Hosi pointed out.
He further added; "If parliamentarians have the virus and they can't come out boldly and go public with it and you're all trying to hide it, then how are you helping the situation? All of them are contributing to the problem".
Mr. Hosi seized the opportunity to caution the Ghanaians to desist from stigmatizing persons who may have tested positive.
