A Consultant to the Daily Express Newspaper’s breakfast series, Charles Mensah has called on private sector business operators to separate family interests from the running of their businesses.
The breakfast series of the Daily Express, a private newspaper, is a monthly program that engages policy makers and industry players to discuss topical issues affecting the health of the economy.
Mr. Mensah, who was speaking at the 3rd Edition of the series on how to sustain family businesses, said most enterprises are not growing because they are run by relatives and family members that do not have the requisite skills.
He cited growing businesses such as Camelot which all started as family businesses but employed skilled personnel to grow.
He said if proprietors wanted their family members to play any role in businesses, they ought to give them the requisite training.
