The PNC General Secretary, Bernard Monarh has described as shameful the decision by the minority to stay in the House during the presentation of the budget by the Finance. He said the decision contradicted the earlier position taken by the minority to boycott activities which directly involved president John Mahama, whose legitimacy they are challenging in court. Mornah was even more incensed by the comment from the Minority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu which sought to remind the Finance Minister that the budget he presented was in the name of the president and not in his capacity as the minister. He said it was “shameful” that after boycotting the president, the minority leader turns around to say that the Finance Minister is presenting the budget on the authority of the president. "The president that they have boycotted. The president that they said they will not see an eye with," he told Joy News' Parliamentary correspondent Elton Brobbey. He said the Minority leader must apologise to the people of Ghana for taking a wrong decision. “It is shameful and the Minority Leader must make an opportunity to apologise to the people of Ghana and say that we took a wrong decision and now we have realized that wrong can be corrected,” he stated. But in a reaction on Joy News a Member of Parliament for Dormaa Central Mr Kweku Agyeman Manu said the arguments by the PNC leader is illogical. He said the minority has explained on numerous occasions that it will only be part any action taken by the president which will remain even when the Supreme Court declares that Mahama is not the rightfully elected president of Ghana. He said actions like vetting of ministers and a presentation of the state of the nation address by the president will all be annulled in the event that the Supreme Court rules in favour of the NPP. "In any case is Bernard Mornah telling us to boycott Parliament in perpetuity"? he asked.
