Shine Credit Limited, a company focused on providing micro-finance to the unbanked population, has launched its 3rd Anniversary celebration at a ceremony in Tema on the theme ‘Building on the Past, Partnering With Our Customers Forever’.Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. David Sorinye told a gathering of employees and well wishers at the launch that three years of initial operation of any business was a remarkable and reasonable time to conduct an objective assessment of its performance.He said Shine Credit Limited started at Tema Community One in 2008 in a 2x4 small office room with just a three-member staff.He was glad that from this humble beginning, the company had grown so rapidly, employing over 140 Ghanaians and opening eight branches in three regions with plans to go nationwide.“Today and by the Grace of God, Shine Credit Limited has grown and established eight (8) branches spread over three Regions, namely Greater Accra, Volta and Ashanti Regions… our staff numbers also grew from three at the beginning to over one hundred and forty seven (147) distributed in the three regions,” he noted.Mr. Sorinye said the mission of the Company was to see the customer as the most valuable asset by providing opportunities for them to access reliable and hustle-free financial services aimed at developing their businesses.It is also to promote responsible lending to customers in a healthy and friendly relationship and provide tailor-made training to all borrowers that will enhance their business growth and improve the quality of their lives.“Currently, we have disbursed loans to over two thousand customers in different categories of our market segment. This comprises individual loans, group loans, business loans and other advances,” the CEO added.He said to achieve the vision of Shine Credit Ltd of becoming the first choice provider of financial services to the small-and-medium scale enterprises; the Company was attracting young and talented employees who were delighting customers with friendly and reliable services.On Information Technology (IT), Mr. Sorinye disclosed that the company had imported a robust IT solution from India to enhance proper data management and improve customer confidentiality.“Furthermore, as we speak all our eight branches plus our Head Office are networked, customers can now perform any transaction they want from any of our branches…,” he noted.He announced that in the medium to long term, Shine Credit Limited would play a major role in providing finance on affordable housing scheme to well organized groups.The company would also, in the near future, provide both local and foreign money transfer system to ease the burden customers go through in accessing remittances from relatives.Mr. Sorinye revealed that Shine Credit Limited was venturing into Clearing and Forwarding enterprise to help recognized business groups with warehousing facilities to aid them go into wholesale trading.As part of the celebration the company would exercise its Corporate Social Responsibility drive by embarking on Malaria Education and Prevention in all eight operational areas.Source: Adom Business News/Ghana
