Sparrows Production is once again bringing a new drama series to your screens titled Madam.

Written and directed by Shirley Frimpong-Manso, the series delivers on the themes of 'Money, Power and Sex'.
Madam follows the story of a villainous woman revered and feared by all in equal measure.

Lankai Morgan (nicely played by Joselyn Dumas) wants power and would go to any lengths to ensure she has it.

As she works hard to keep her prostitution and crime ring going under the guise of operating an NGO supporting young girls, the very people she works with are plotting her downfall - but this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Dealing with work and enemies are not the only problems Lankai has to face.

Her family is hiding dark secrets and some of her employees not only have a few skeletons of their own, but are also ready to give ammunition to anyone that goes against Lankai.

But it seems her biggest opponents, at least in the first few episodes, are the newly-appointed minister she cannot bribe, and a detective determined to uncover her crimes.

While her plans to achieve wealth and immense success are being undermined by the duo, Lankai is determined to use every means possible, slander, intimidation, and bribery to have her way.

This seems to be the catalyst that sets the story off leading to the introduction of the many characters who want Lankai’s downfall and their own personal battles.

The first three episodes of the show introduce us to the many characters of the show and their role in relation to the Madam - whether they are loyal to Lankai and her course or the thorns in her roses.

As a result, every scene lighthearted or serious, raises questions or answers one but not to an audience's satisfaction right away - a strategy that keeps the audience engaged in each episode.

So one wonders what Lankai would do when she finds out that regardless of her power the people she intimidates or please keeps secrets or plots against her right underneath her nose.

Madam features Jocelyn Dumas, Salma Mumin, Habiba Sinare, Jasmine Baroudi, Lucky Lawson, Michael Katahena, Dean Amegashie, Adomaa, Godwin Namboh and many others.

Madam premieres on Monday, May 8 at 8:00pm on Akwaaba Magic only on DSTV or GOTV.
