The 18th week Glo premier league matches will unfold at all league centres Wednesday, with some mouth watering fixtures.
If results of the 17th week are anything to go by, then one will only be cautious what predictions to make.
Whilst life at the top appears comfortable at least for leaders Accra Hearts of Oak, the same cannot be said for the bottom.
It will be battle against relegation as Ashantigold host St Mirren at the Obuasi Lenclay Stadium. Ashgold languish at bottom with 12 points, two less than Mirren who lie second from bottom. Coach Afranie threatened to quit the club if his charges failed to win against Hasaacas, and it worked with an impressive 2-0 victory last Saturday. But I don’t think another threat will work this time, more so when they are playing against a drowning side, Ashgold. Tough talking coach David Duncan should find his lost voice at least after this match.
After an emphatic 6-0 annihilation of Berekum Arsenal, Tema Youth have vowed to make Heart of lions their next casualty, but that won’t come easy. Lions lost to Wise and will be happy to make amends. At the Lions den, Heart of lions is tipped to pick maximum points.
The sinking woes of Kotoko do not look like ending anytime soon. The porcupine warriors have a huge task of breaking a side that has never lost at home at least for the past three seasons. Berekum Arsenals are not in the best of forms themselves and a draw might just be a fair result.
Kumasi King Faisal will host Beechem Chelsea at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in a battle for supremacy. The two sides are tied neck-to-neck on second spot and a victory for any of the side could be priceless. Chelsea have been outstanding away from home, losing just two matches to Eleven Wise and Arsenal. A draw could be the likely results but the pendulum could swing in favour of Faisal.
All Blacks are relegation threatened and will need to replicate the havoc-wrecking performance that saw them beat Kotoko, if they are to make any headway against Wa All Stars at the Robert Mensah Stadium.
Coach Bashiru Hayford is expected to continue his impressive run with Kessben as they host RTU at Abrankese. RTU are struggling and any point lost could be suicidal. A draw is favourable but a defeat looks palpable.
Hasaacas at the Essipong Stadium looks favourite to score full marks against tottering Liberty.
At the Ohene Sports Stadium league leaders Accra Hearts of Oak must up their performance to beat Sekondi Eleven Wise. The league leaders have been impregnable this season, but were boring against local rivals Liberty. They were lucky to have gone home with a point. Against an improved Wise led by CK Akunnor, the phobians will have to play above themselves to pick the maximum points.
