Over the past few years Joseph Adenuga, AKA Skepta, has been proving his worth as one of the music industry’s more fashion-aware talents.
With friends in high places – Virgil Abloh at Louis Vuitton and Kim Jones at Dior, being a couple – he has become a regular on the fashion week circuit.
With age, the 38-year old’s style has matured and he has cemented his transition from tracksuit-wearing Roll Deep member to a bonafide style aficionado.
While he regularly sports those aforementioned brands, as well as conceptual London talents such as Cottweiler and A-COLD-WALL*, he’s got the seal of approval from one of the most esteemed fashion houses out there.
The former GQ cover star shared an image of his latest look on Twitter. Paired with a silk do-rag, his gold lock-embellished black single-breasted wool suit with chest strap, crisp white button-down shirt and heavy-duty boots with stainless steel sole details came via Givenchy, the eponymous brand founded by Hubert de Givenchy in 1952 that firmly sits in the fashion industry’s upper echelons.

Now helmed by American designer Matthew M Williams, the founder and creative lead behind 1017 Alyx 9SM, Givenchy has entered a sexy new era of streetwear-cum-high-end design, and the Ignorance Is Bliss rapper Skepta, alongside the likes of hip-hop heavyweights Playboi Carti and Travis Scott, is a perfect poster child.
Having already shown off a Williams-designed off-white suit on Instagram back in October, we expect big things from Skepta’s relationship with Givenchy – lest we forget when he walked the Nasir Mazhar Spring/Summer 2015 show in 2014.
Are the days of Adidas tracksuit and Nike TNs-clad Skepta over? Probably not, but there’s no denying he looks damn good in a Givenchy suit.
