Ghanaians have taken to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to support the ongoing #OccupyBoG demonstration.
Thousands of protesters took to the streets in the early hours of Tuesday, October 3 to vent their frustrations and demands for better economic environment and governance.
The #OccupyBoG demonstration spearheaded by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) seeks the immediate removal of the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Ernest Addison and his deputies.
This call stems from what they perceive as gross incompetence on the part of these officials, which they believe has directly contributed to the financial troubles faced by the Bank of Ghana.
The protesters gathered at the Obra Spot at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra, from where they proceeded along the Adabraka - Accra Central road that leads to the Central Business Unit. The route took them through the Cedi House to Independence Square, National Lottery Authority, and unto the Atta Mills Highway.
