For DGPASome of the impostor's victims told Joy News they borrowed from the bank to pay the fees. One of them said while he was charged GH¢1,400 for a place in the military academy, his brother was charged GH¢600 for placement in General Recruit segment. It took the intervention of a soldier, Cpl. Godson Nutsukpui, whose niece was also a victim, to discover Oppong’s fraudulent activities. He wanted to verify the admission letter his niece had received. He told Joy News’ Sammy Darko that when he confronted Oppong, the suspect admitted that although he was a soldier sometime ago, he had been relieved of his duties. On that confession, Cpl Nutsukpui said he took Oppong to the military police who detained him for a day and later released him to the police. He said when the suspect was being conveyed to the police station, he attempted to pay back the GH¢600 he had taken from Cpl. Nutsukpui’s niece so he would be spared. The army officer said his niece however said there were more victims, and that Oppong’s pranks should not be countenanced.Subsequently he was handed over to the police.Story by Malik Abass Daabu/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
