Experienced goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye has agreed to renew his relationship with Kumasi Asante Kotoko as his old contract nears expiration.
The agile Burkinabe international goalie joined Kotoko in the 2007/08 season. He played an instrumental role in Coach Bashir Hayford's squad that won the Premier League title that season.
Soulama therefore has been instrumental in Kotoko success since his first season. He is one of the only two players that have won the Premier League title three times with Kotoko in the last decade. The other person is his fellow goalie, Isaac Amoako.
Speaking to Kotoko asantekotokosc.com, Head of Kotoko's communication team, Dr. Ernest Opoku revealed that Soulama Abdoulaye has agreed to extend his contract.
"He has agreed to sign the new one before he leaves for Burkina. We are happy about that.
Let me also inform our supporters that we are making good efforts to bring on board tried and tested new players. In due course, we will be confirming the names of those players" said Dr. Opoku.
