Global Head of Commercial Clients at the Standard Chartered Bank, Andrew Bainbridge, has arrived in Accra for a one-day duty tour.

The Infrastructure Crisis Facility Debt Pool is a German Government-funded initiative to help to fund gaps in infrastructure finance created by the global financial crisis. GuarantCo is a company which enhances local currency debt issuance by the infrastructure sector in lower income countries, sponsored by the governments of Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.
Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Andrew was the Chief Executive Officer of BMI Bank in Bahrain. Before BMI, Andrew worked for Barclays in a variety of roles including the Chief Operating Officer for Emerging Markets, Managing Director, Barclays Africa and Indian Ocean, Chief Operating Officer and Risk Director for Africa and Middle East; Segment and Change Director for UK Larger Business and Chief Financial Officer for Africa.
During his visit, he will be holding strategic discussions with key stakeholders of the Bank including clients. Andrew will also interact with the management and staff of Standard Chartered Ghana and visit some of the Bank’s key offices and facilities.
As the Bank’s most senior person heading the newly created Commercial Clients segment, Andy’s visit emphasises the Bank’s commitment to deliver greater value to the medium enterprises and mid-sized local companies who make up the segment.
Standard Chartered considers small and medium enterprises and mid-sized local companies as key contributors to trade, investment and the growth of economies across the Bank’s footprint globally hence the greater focus on Commercial Clients.
