Country Director of Herbalife Nutrition Ghana, Clarence Amenyah, has shared some insights into keeping hope alive and staying cheerful even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to him, deep belly breathing, short walks, being organized and smiling constantly are simple yet effective ways to improve one’s mood.
“We live in a fast-paced world that can feel stressful at times. It’s important to take good care of your mental and physical well-being. Deep belly breaths during work or when running could calm one’s mind and provide a rejuvenating break.
"Time spent smiling at others improve moods and give the facial muscles a workout too. Though a fast-paced walk may seem insignificant, it can improve one’s mood and reduce your stress level” he said.
“Boosting your mood starts by relieving your stress levels. Set aside some time in your schedule to get organized wherever you are.

"A smile is a great mood booster as it may improve the mood of other people too and probably have them smile back. Even if you have a few minutes, make time for a brisk walk.”
Mr Amenyah highlighted the importance of a routine stretching break and regular exercises in achieving happiness.
He indicated that work out exercises involving the upper and lower body concurrently are key to boosting brain power which in turn impacts positively on one’s mood.
Additionally, he recommended simple movements throughout the day as a way of refreshing the mind and relieving muscle tension.
“Instead of taking a coffee break, try stretching. You would be amazed at the kind of positive impact it would have on your mood” he opined.
