State transporter, Intercity STC has partnered with SIC Life Trust Finance Limited (SICLifeTFL) to provide life insurance cover for passengers on board any of its buses.
Families of STC passengers who lose their lives in road accidents would henceforth receive compensation to the tune of GHC 2000 from SICLifeTFL.
The move forms part of STC’s attempts to revamp its operations. The company has also received 10 mini buses and 5 coasters from SICLifeTFL.
Board chairman of SICLifeTFL, financiers of the new buses, Aaron Issa Anafure assured “…the SIC Life Insurance will be insuring not just the lives of staff that work on the buses on a daily basis, but also lives of the many Ghanaians that continue to trust the safety and reliability of the reinvigorated STC service”.
Managing Director of Intercity STC, Samuel Nuamah-Donkoh thanked SICLifeTFL assured of his commitment to seeing STC become the most trusted means of transport in the country.
He further indicated that the State Transport Company was taking its drivers through rigorous training to ensure fewer and minor accidents are recorded.
