The Fanteakwa District Director of Education, Ms. Mary Animwah, has asked the Executives of the Fanteakwa District Teachers Welfare Fund to stop spending excessively on funeral and invest some of the welfare funds in viable economic ventures. Giving this advice at a Head teachers’ meeting at Begoro, Miss Animwah observed that, welfare fund is mostly spent on funerals in the district whereas the fund is not for funerals alone. She urged the executive to resort to investing the fund into viable income generating projects to supplement the traditional means of monthly contributions. Ms Aniwah urged the executives to tap new sources of income generation rather than their monthly contribution so as to get enough money for soft loans to teachers. Source: GNA
