The National Security Advisor, Brigadier General Nunoo-Mensah (Retd) has rebuked New Patriotic Party flag bearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his “all die be die” comment and says he should be circumspect in his choice of words. He told Asempa FM that he was not entirely surprised at the comment because it is in the nature of the NPP to be violent.

Samuel Abu Jinapor has confessed he was encouraged by Nana Akufo-Addo’s “all die be die” to storm Sogakope in the Volta Regional stronghold of the National Democratic Congress to participate in a radio programme on “opponents’” radio, Radio Gold last Saturday when the station ran an OB of its Alhaji and Alhaji programme. He said Nana’s call is a national call and not about his personal gains.

Dr Tony Aidoo, Head of Government’s Policy Evaluation and Oversight Unit has challenged the New Patriotic Party to produce a recording of a meeting between party members and flag bearer, Nana Akufo-Addo in Koforidua at which Nana was reported to have made ethnically incendiary comments and also declared ‘all die be die’, saying no one but Nana Addo himself provoked the comment.

The People’s National Convention’s General Secretary, Bernard Mornah says Nana Akufo-Addo’s call on Akans to rise up against intimidation is unbecoming of a leader whose party, like other political parties in Ghana, is enjoined to be national in character. He believes the comments cannot be justified under any circumstance and should not have come from Nana Addo of all persons.
