Three people are believed to have died in an accident that occurred Saturday afternoon at Savietula near Alakple in the Keta municipality of the Volta region.
Two died on the spot with the third dying later in the hospital.
Several others who sustained serious injuries were rushed to the Keta Government hospital.
An eye witness told Joy News correspondent Ivy Setordjie the sprinter vehicle with registration number GE4346-09 which was heading to Accra burst a tyre and somersaulted several times.
Six passengers were said to been injured.
Police, Fire Service personnel and personnel from the Ambulance Service were said to have moved to the scene of the accident to help save lives and restore order.
