Three illegal gold miners were on Monday buried alive in a mining pit on the concession of the Golden Star Mining Company at Awunakrom in the Mpohor Wassa East District.They are Abraham Issaka, 19, Megbe Kuma, 30, and Raymond Ahiabbe, 34, Chief Inspector Olivia Adiku, Public Relations Officer of the Western Region Public Command, said on Wednesday.She told journalists at Takoradi that the dead miners and their five colleagues went to prospect for gold on the concession of the mining company but the pit collapsed on them.Chief Inspector Adiku said other miners organised a rescue team that pulled out all the eight and took them to the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital where three were pronounced dead five were treated and discharged.Source: GNA
