Three illegal miners have been remanded in prison custody for using explosives that led to the destruction of a high tension electricity cable at Nkamponiase near Tarkwa.
They pleaded not guilty and will re-appear on March 26.
They are Kwesi Mensah, 21, Kwaku Manu, 25 and Yaw Kumi, 26.
The prosecutor Chief Inspector Edward Paddy told the court that on January 25 police had information that the accused and others now at large had damaged a high tension cable through the use of explosives while prospecting for gold.
