Telecommunications giant Tigo is partnering Hitz 103.9FM to bring Ghanaians the biggest sporting fiesta to hit the shores of the country.
The event, dubbed “Rep Ur Jersey”, provides the platform for thousands of football enthusiasts to wear their favorite club jerseys and engage in fun games and a live viewing of the UEFA final game on a giant screen.
This year, football enthusiasts are expected to throng the Aviation Social Centre on Saturday, May 25 in their Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester jerseys to represent their teams.
Already, fans of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are eagerly anticipating a very tantalizing all-German UEFA Champions League finale at the Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday. Tigo, with sports at its heart, is partnering Hitz FM to bring fans of the beautiful game a once in a year experience that will linger on throughout the year.
The Hitz FM Rep Ur Jersey event has over the years carved a niche for itself as the major congregation point for football fans to network, have fun and watch the finals of the championship.
It will also feature appearances from some of the country’s celebrities from music, radio, sports and television representing their favorite European clubs.
There will be surprise performances from some of the artistes who will be attending the event.
Fans will take part in several games at the venue. Some of the games include inter-club table tennis, snooker, basketball and video games for both men and women.
The climax of this event will be the football match between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund which will be shown on a giant screen for football lovers, after which the UEFA champions will be celebrated massively in the after party.
Tigo will run a predict-and-win competition where the general public can predict the winner of the Champions League finals. Football fans stand the chance of winning amazing prizes such as Blackberry handsets, souvenirs and Tigo airtime by texting their predictions to the short code 909.
