Ex-Ghana player Joe Addo says the Black Stars' FIFA international friendly against Turkey will propel the team well, for their crucial 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zambia in September.
The match with Turkey on Wednesday forms part of Ghana's preparations for their last match in the African second round qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Black Stars Coach Kwasi Appiah has named a strong squad for the assignment and Joe Addo, who once captained the Black Stars in the late 1990s believes Turkey will hand Coach Kwasi Appiah and his team the needed test ahead of that crucial game against Zambia.
“This is big because it is a prelude to the Zambia game and all Ghanaians are looking forward to how this team is going to perform,” he told Joy sports.
“I’m hoping they put up a good show, not necessarily to win but build a strong force for that crucial game in September.
“The Turkish national team are no minnows, they are very strong so the Black Stars playing them is not an easy task at all so I’m hoping we play well for Ghanaians to have confidence in the team ahead of the Zambia game.”
The match against Turkey will kick off at 21:30 pm [6:30GMT] at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.
