Police in Kumasi have arrested two people suspected to be fake currency dealers. Over 800 thousand Ghana cedis counterfeit money and other items believed to be black magic were found on them during a search.
The suspects, Larry Salifu and Mahama Karim, are said to have planned to dupe unsuspecting members of the public at hotel at Dichemso suburb.
Police say they had already checked in at the hotel on Tuesday in readiness to perpetrate the suspected crime when police picked them up upon a tip-off. Reports suggest on seeing the police, Larry Salifu attempted to escape but he was pursued and arrested.

A hotel receptionist and two others who were picked up together with the suspects have since been granted bail.
The two other men are galamseyers who confided with the police that, they were lured by the suspects for some “JUJU” to be able to reap more gold.
Police believe some people had already fallen victim to the activities of the two suspects. Deputy Police Commander ACP Ampofo Duku cautions the public to be vigilant, especially, as Christmas approaches.
