Playwright Uncle Ebo Whyte takes over the stage with an emotional yet hilarious story set in a church.
His new play for this quarter, 'Takeover' intricately weaves a tale of greed, integrity, and the unwavering love of a father for his wayward child.
The play shows on the 5th , 6th , 7th , 12th , 13th and 14th July, 2024 at the National Theatre.
Show times are: Fridays (one show only) at 7 pm; Saturdays (two shows only) at 4 pm and 8 pm and Sundays (three shows) at 1 pm, 4 pm and 8 pm.
There is total panic and chaos when Apostle Godson returns from surgery; His daughter, Mary, sparks uproar on social media with explicit videos; while within his own church, two of his subordinates orchestrate a takeover. How will he reclaim her tarnished reputation and confront the wolves disguised as sheep within his flock?
“Sometimes, the unlikeliest things occur, even in house of God that leaves one aghast. Then you remember that Satan once was an angel of light, very reason he is able to adorn that façade to deceive. In James Ebo Whyte’s Takeover, you will meet sentinels of Satan on the prowl. Caution! It’s most likely you won’t immediately recognize them!” Dr Brew Riverson Junior.
