The Union of Industry, Commerce and Finance Workers, UNICOF has threatened to embark on an industrial action in protest against dismissed local union chair at Merchant Bank, if the Labour Commission fails to resolve the matter.
The Local Union Chairman of UNICOF at Merchant Bank, Rev. Jonas Koranteng-Smart was dismissed last week for misconduct and insubordination.
General Secretary of UNICOF, Kofi Davor however told JOYBUSIENSS though they have confidence in the Labour Commission, they will stop at nothing to ensure the right thing is done.
UNICOF is expected to appear before the Labour Commission on Wednesday over notice served to management of Merchant bank about its intention to strike if it fails to re-instate Rev. Jonas Koranteng-Smart as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the unionized workers have given their full support to UNICOF in the actions taken so far at an emergency meeting with the National executives held over the weekend.
