Universal Merchant Bank, in partnership with Joy FM, today donated quantities of medical equipment worth Ghc 56,000,00 to the National Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery unit of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
The items donated included Silver sulfadiazine, Bandage Crepe, Liquid Paraffin and Disposable Zinc Oxide.
The equipment and medicines are to facilitate the effective treatment of the June 3 floods and fire victims.
Presenting the items, the Managing Director of the bank, John Awuah said the bank was delighted to partner Joy FM to raise funds to support the victims.
He said the bank has an account under UMB and Joy FM Flood Relief Fund across all its branches and appealed to the general public to donate to the fund through account number 000250100039360 or MTN Mobile Money number 0549781391.
Dr. Kwesi Nsaful, a Senior Resident Doctor in charge of the Burns Unit, thanked the bank and Joy FM for the gesture.
He said the items will go a long way to enhance the recovery of the victims.
