Updated: Maulvi Wahab Adam has died

Maulvi Wahab Adam, the Ameer and Missionary in charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Ghana, is dead.

Dr. Wahab Adam who was a member of the National Reconciliation Committee died on Sunday afternoon after a protracted battle with ill health.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission has officially issued a statement on his demise which occurred at the Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.

“With heavy heart, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Ghana, wishes to announce the death of Maulvi Dr. A. Wahab Adam, the Ameer & Missionary-In-Charge. Innact lillaahe wa innaa ilaihe Raajeoun. (We are all from Allah, and to Him shall we all return).

“The late Ameer passed away today, 22nd June, 2014, at about 1lam, at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital,” graphic.com.gh quoted a statement issued by the Mission, signed by the General Secretary, Ahmed Anderson.

“The National Executive Council will meet shortly to announce the burial arrangement, in line with Islamic Tradition.

“Dr. Wahab Adam left behind a wife and 7 children.”

The statement noted that “a book of condolence will be opened at the Mission's National Headquarters at Osu, Nyaniba Estates, from Monday, 23rd June, 2014, at 10.00am.”
