Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama on Thursday appealed to the chiefs and people of the Zongo community in the Sunyani municipality to vote massively to retain the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in power.
He said voting the NPP into power would enable Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo to continue with the “good policies of the Kufuor administration.”
“The good foundation and legacies laid by the NPP is there for everybody to see, having ensured the sound management of the economy coupled with the introduction of prudent policies like the capitation grant, school feeding programme, health insurance scheme and free transport for school children which are all meant to help lessen the economic burden on Ghanaians,” he said.
Alhaji Mahama said this when he paid homage to the chiefs on his way from Techiman and Wenchi to thank them for their support before and during his tenure of office.
He urged them to vote the NPP back to power since children in the Zongo communities would be the direct beneficiaries of the free senior high school education as promised by Nana Akufo-Addo.
Present at the ceremony were Nana Kwadwo Kwakye, Deputy Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, Kwame Twumasi-Awuah, Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive and Brong-Ahafo Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Umar Abdul Kardri.
