Veteran actor Frimpong Manso aka Osofo Dadzie who was the lead character in the television drama series Osofo Dadzie has died aged 89.
The news was confirmed by actor Clement Bonney known in the showbiz industry as Mr Beautiful.
The drama series was very popular in the country in the 1970s and early 1980s.
It was by the Osofo Dadzie group, a drama and concert group that were very popular at the time the series run.
The affable actor who preaches before every series ends is said to have died after battling an undisclosed ailment.
"His sister called me to inform me this morning because I was one of the last people who saw him last month," Mr Beautiful said on Accra-based Okay FM on Monday.
Mr Manso was the lead character in the Osofo Dadzie television drama series.
His name became a household name after his role in the series.
Osofo Dadzie will later move on to become a producer.
Other popular actors in the series include the late Super OD played by Asonaba Kwaku Darko, S. K. Oppong, Fred Addai, Akua Boahemaa and Bea Kissi.
