Vodafone Business Solutions is set to stage a Vodafone Nigerian Independence Day Cup on Saturday, October 12, at the Accra Polo court to mark Nigeria's 53rd Independence Day which fell on October 1.
The event will feature people from Ghana’s elite, members of the Nigerian community in Ghana, nationals of other countries as well as key officials from Vodafone Ghana.
A statement from Vodafone said, "the event is Vodafone Business Solution’s commitment to help promote the game of Polo and make it a more familiar sport in the country."
"Through the effective and continued partnership with the Polo Club, Vodafone Business Solutions has built a strong team that is able to compete and beat international teams," the statement added.
Organizers expressed optimism that the event will be an exciting game of the finest polo talents as two teams compete for this year’s Vodafone Independence Polo Tournament trophy.
The Vodafone Business Solutions (VBS), over a period of three years, has collaborated with the Accra Polo Club in several Polo tournaments including the Vodafone Accra Open Championship which was held a couple of months ago.
The Vodafone Nigerian Independence Cup, is held once every year to commemorate Nigeria’s Independence Day.
