President John Mahama has vowed to end the Volta Region's cycle of neglect under his administration.
He said this during his Thank-You tour in Ho.
Addressing a durbar of chiefs and the people, the president expressed his deep commitment to ensuring that the region finally receives its fair share of national development.
His assurances touched on critical infrastructure projects and social interventions aimed at boosting economic growth and improving the quality of life in the area.

Central to his promises was the rehabilitation of the Ho-Denu road, a vital economic artery for trade and commerce.
He also pledged to complete the long-awaited Eastern Corridor Road, which has been a source of frustration for residents due to delays.
The president underscored his administration’s commitment to revamping the Ho airport, enhancing its capacity to spur tourism and business opportunities.

President Mahama also outlined plans to extend the Keta Sea Defence Project and develop the Keta Port, both of which are expected to protect coastal communities and create avenues for maritime trade.
He also assured victims of the Akosombo-Kpong dam spillage that they would be duly compensated for their losses.
In education, the president promised to transform the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) into a world-class tertiary institution and upgrade the Ohaʋu Agricultural College to a full tertiary status.

To further enhance the region’s development, he announced plans to expand water supply projects and revitalize agricultural activities, aiming to secure food sufficiency and sustainable livelihoods.

The president also acknowledged the role of sports and education in national development, pledging to invest in infrastructure to nurture talent and inspire youth.
The Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Aƒede XIV, described the president's victory as a national triumph.

While he expressed optimism in the administration’s potential to restore what the region has lost, he cautioned against corruption and urged for integrity in governance.
Chiefs and people of the Volta Region pledged their support for the president’s vision to foster development and address long-standing challenges.
