League Champions Wa All Stars beat Liberian side Barrack Young Controllers to claim bronze at the West African Football Union (WAFU) invitational tournament in Dakar.
The Wa side played the third playoff game after being hammered by Ivory Coast champions AS Tanda in the semifinal earlier in the week.
The 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Ivoirians did not deter the Ghanaian league champions and went ahead through Van-Dave Harmon.
The Liberian side, BYC, who surprisingly knocked Kotoko out of the CAF Champions League in 2014, got the equalizer in the second half through David Tweh’s strike after clever play from Sam Jackson.
But the Ghanaian side got the winner late in the second half to claim third place.
The four-team tournament which also featured US Goree from Senegal was sponsored by FOX Sports TV Network of Los Angeles, United States.
