He polled 301 votes out of a total 383 to beat the two other contestants, Mohammed Saani Seidu and Jakoni Ahmed Mankaama.
This will be the second attempt from Amin salifu to wrestle the seat from the opposition New Patriotic Party which is currently occupied by Godfrey Bayong Tangu.
The primary was dubbed a make or break affair for the party in the constituency given the magnitude of insults hurled between supporters of the various candidates Joy News’ Rafiq Salam reported.
But there was no violence whatsoever before, during and after the elections, he added.
Wa East District electoral officer, Azumadi Philip declared the incumbent DCE as winner of the primaries with total votes of 301 representing 78 per cent of the total votes.
