Ghana's U20 side secured a third-place finish at the 2025 WAFU-B U20 Boys Cup with a 2-0 victory over Niger at the University of Ghana Stadium.
The first half was tightly contested, with both teams sharing possession, but Ghana looked more dangerous and went into the break the stronger side.
After the interval, Desmond Ofei’s team took control, combining flair with physicality to dominate proceedings and limit Niger’s attacking threat.
The match took a dramatic turn in the 67th minute when Niger players briefly walked off the pitch in protest of a penalty awarded to Ghana for a handball in the box. CAF officials intervened to restore order, and play resumed shortly after.
Aziz Musibau calmly converted the resulting spot-kick in the 70th minute to give Ghana a well-earned lead.
Musibau struck again in the 78th minute, capping off a swift move down the flank. Kelvin Nkrumah delivered a precise cross, and Musibau finished with a simple tap-in to seal his brace.
Ghana held firm to claim a 2-0 win and secure third place in the inaugural edition of the WAFU-B U20 Boys Cup.
