A major shakeup hit the police administration after 16 police chiefs were transferred with immediate effect by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) on Monday.
A lot of people were surprised especially with COP/Dr. George Akuffo Dampare's reassignment to the Ghana Police Command and Staff College (GPCSC) in Winneba from being the Accra Regional Police Commander. He wrote to the Police Administration in appreciation for giving him another opportunity to service in a different capacity while asking for support for his successor.

On Tuesday, there were concerns by the public over what seemed like the return of 'dumsor' but government dismissed the fears. Many Ghanaians took to social media to complain about what was becoming frequent power cut in their areas. Government assured that the situation will improve as the situation with the FPSO is being looked at.
Also on Tuesday, parliament resumed sitting and the Speaker of parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho urged the MPs to give priority to the consideration of the Right to Information Bill.

Members of parliament warned that the procedures to legitimise the November 7 date set by the Electoral Commission for this year's election are elaborate and time-consuming.
On Wednesday, Parliament was divided over clause 1 of the RTI bill. Parliament could not agree on the meaning of a clause in the Bill, which requires a person urgently requesting for information to provide reasons.
The Ghana Prisons Service workers on Wednesday decried the poor conditions of service of personnel. They told the media the story about how their salaries has not seen any increment since 1981.
On Thursday, the EC said names of persons who registered with National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) cards would not be deleted from the electoral roll. The Commission was setting the record straight following a Supreme Court judgement on the matter which filed by Abu Ramadan.
At an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on Thursday, the Commission said the Supreme Court did not order it to delete names of NHIS registrants. Abu Ramadan, the plaintiff in the case said the EC could be cited for high crime by the apex court.
Also, the Ghana Refugee Board said it was going to repatriate some 40 asylum seekers who were living in the open at Dzorwulu.
Kumasi was in the news on Friday after a clash at Aboabo between some Islamic secs of Tijaniya and the Al-sunna. And a police officer, Corporal Frank Essel was shot by some armed men at a hotel at Dichemmuoso at the Open Space Hotel in Kumasi.
