The Western Regional Minister, Joseph Nelson, has commended the Western Naval Command for its role in protecting Ghana's territorial waters.
During his familiarisation tour of the command, he acknowledged their crucial role in safeguarding businesses, social activities, and the overall economic stability of the country.

The Minister also recognised the challenges faced by the command and pledged to work closely with them to address these issues.
He emphasised the importance of maintaining security to ensure the peace and tranquillity of citizens. "We thank you for the security you provide along our coastline, especially for our oil installations," he said.

As Chairman of the Regional Security Council (REGSEC), the Minister assured the command of his commitment to supporting their efforts and encouraged them to continue working diligently for the region's progress.
"There are other areas where we can cooperate to resolve issues within the region, ensuring that both economic activities and livelihoods can flourish," he stated.

Commodore Emmanuel Ayesu Kwafo, Flag Officer Commanding the Western Naval Command, who led the command in engaging the Minister, assured him of their continued commitment to protecting the national interest at all times.
