A leading member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Nyama, has declared the party’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia becomes President in 2028.
In a Facebook post on Friday, January 30, Mr Nyama said no circumstance would deter the party from backing its preferred candidate.
“Whether Bawumia is sick or in a wheelchair, we will make him President in 2028,” he wrote.
His comments come ahead of the NPP’s flagbearership election, scheduled to take place nationwide on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
Party leadership, working in collaboration with the Electoral Commission, has indicated that adequate arrangements have been put in place to ensure a smooth, free and credible electoral process.
