Founder and CEO of East Legon Football Academy,Winston Yeboah Danso, has made a significant donation to support the Fafali girls’ football team ahead of the Street Child World Cup in Mexico.
His contribution of GH₵10,000 marks the launch of the Fafali Mexico Club 1000 Campaign, an initiative aimed at raising funds for the team’s participation in the global tournament scheduled from May 4 to May 15.
Out of the amount, GH₵5,000 was donated on behalf of East Legon Football Academy, with the remaining GH₵5,000 coming from Mr. Danso personally. The donation is expected to kickstart efforts to mobilize support for the team’s travel, accommodation, training, and other logistical needs.
The campaign is calling on 1,000 individuals and organisations to contribute GH₵500 each to help make the trip to Mexico possible.
The Street Child World Cup brings together young people from underserved communities around the world, combining football with advocacy, leadership training, and discussions on children’s rights.
For the Fafali girls, the tournament offers a unique opportunity to represent Ghana on the global stage, gain exposure, and inspire other young people in their communities.
Organisers are encouraging corporate bodies, philanthropists, and the general public to support the initiative and help the team achieve its dream.
