The Asokore-Mampong district court has remanded into prison custody a 23-year-old woman who attempted to kill her baby girl at Abirem in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti.
Attaa Adomah dumped the three-month old Ama Rose in a 9 foot deep septic tank, filled with water to just about 6 inches.
She admits to attempting to eliminate her daughter to convince an old lover to take her back.
A timely intervention of Adomah’s parents, community leaders and police led to rescue of the baby who is now on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment.
The 23-year-old appeared in court looking extremely sorrowful and without a lawyer.
Magistrate at the Asokore-Mampong District Court, Her Worship Mrs. Portia Molly Amafo-Salia therefore adjourned the case, advising the suspect’s family to consult LEGAL AID for a pro-bono lawyer at the next hearing on November, 18.

Meanwhile Attaa Adomah is being allowed to breastfeed the baby under guard at the Komfo Anokye following a request by health authorities
