Ghana's long jump queen, Deborah Acquah, makes her appearance at this year’s World Athletics Championships on Saturday, July 23 at 7.00pm Ghana time.
The long jump national record holder was one of the key names ahead of the competition after leaping to a big personal best and world lead of 6.89m to win gold for Texas A&M back in April.
Deborah is currently ranked fifth in the world this year and says she is ready to upset the cards when she takes to the field later tonight.
Deboarah will compete for a place in Sunday’s final in Group B alongside world number, Ivana Vuleta, of Serbia, world number two, Malaika Mihambo, of Germany and Ukraine's Maryna Berk-Ramchuk, who is third on the world ranking. Deborah must produce the automatic qualifying mark of 6.75m or at least be part of the best 12 to make the final.
Her trainer, Sean Brady, is confident about the work Deborah has put in.
