Some pupils of the Alogboshie Primary and Junior High school in Achimota are complaining about the quality and quantity of food served them under the school feeding programme.
The pupils claim the food served them has worms and often not nutritious.
Those complaining told Joy News they have refused to eat the meals.
“It is not good at all. It is not well prepared. If it is rice you can say some are hard and some are soft and the stew too is not good,” one of the pupils said.
“When we were eating we saw some worms and some other things in it. When they cooked the beans, the cook it small and add water to it. The beans become watery,” another complained.
The assemblyman for the area is aware of the situation and told Joy News though he has drawn the attention of the cooks nothing seems to have changed.
James Akogo is worried and wants officials of the school feeding program to act to avoid previous situations that led to pupils being hospitalized for food poisoning.
For now the headmistress of the school has declined comment.
National coordinator of the School Feeding, Alhaji seidu, also wants to visit the school to verify the concerns.
