Midfielder Yahaya Mohammed says the local Black Stars are in a tough Group for next year's CHAN tournament in South Africa.
Ghana will play Libya, Congo Brazzaville and Ethiopia at the group stage of the tournament after a draw held in Cairo on Wednesday placed all four in Group C.
The local Black Stars will play all group games in Bloemfontein when the competition starts next January.
Mohammed of Kumasi Asante Kotoko fame, who is a key member of Ghana's home-based team, believes they have been handed a tough draw.
"It is a very tough group because now every nation want to be a football nation,” he told Joy sports
"We are not going to have it easy because all these nations are very good so we have to strategize well before going into the tournament.
"I know the Ethiopians very well and judging from what they did at the last Nations cup it won’t be easy but I believe we also have a great team to go and make history."
Hosts South Africa have been paired with Mozambique, Nigeria and Mali in Group A. Group B Zimbabwe, Uganda, Burkina Faso and Morocco. DR Congo, Gabon , Burundi and Mauritania make up Group D.
