Dr. Gideon Boako, the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for Tano South, has urged his constituents to prioritise voting for the party's presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, over himself.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Hello FM, Dr. Boako emphasised the importance of securing a decisive victory for Dr. Bawumia in the upcoming presidential election.
The spokesperson for the Vice President stressed that the party's presidential candidate needs a strong mandate to effectively implement his vision for Ghana's development.
"My dear constituents, I know you have confidence in me, but I implore you to vote massively for Dr. Bawumia. His leadership is crucial for our nation's progress," Dr. Boako pointed out.
Dr. Boako's remarks have been seen as a strategic move to rally support for Dr. Bawumia's presidential bid, ensuring a unified NPP front in the upcoming elections.
Dr. Gideon stressed the fact that given his strategic position and role in the Vice President's office and his campaign, it will greatly benefit the Tano North Constituency if they vote massively for the Vice President to become president.
"I know we have in the past benefited from all previous governments, but the truth is that this constituency and for that matter, the Ahafo region will benefit more from Dr. Bawumia's government. Tano North will be closer to a Bawumia's government than we have ever been to any government since independence, so let us be mindful of that," he noted.
