Former President, John Dramani Mahama has criticised the resignation of two ministers in the ruling government to focus on their political ambitions.
This follows the resignation of both Trade and Agric ministers, Alan Kyerematen and Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto to pursue their presidential aspirations.
In a tweet on Friday, he described their resignation as 'pointless', adding that it is 'too late'.
According to him, the outgone ministers “have realized their boat is heading for disaster hence their decision to leave.
“Some members of the Akufo-Addo government have realized their boat is heading for disaster. It must be a relief for those deserting the ship, but it's so late. It's almost pointless. They’ll try hard not to be part of the mess we are in, but let’s not forget the parts they all played,” he posted.

A few days afterward, he addressed the press to officially announce his intention to contest the NPP’s flagbearership race.
According to him, he will pick the form when nominations are opened by the party.
“I wish to use this platform to formally announce my decision to contest the flagbearership of the New Patriotic Party when the Party officially opens nominations for that purpose,” he said.
Also, the outgone, Agric Minister, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto followed suit. In an interview with JoyNews presidential correspondent, Elton Brobbey, he stated that he will contest for the NPP's flagbearership position.
