Philip Sowah, Managing Director of Zain Communications Ghana Limited has been voted as the ‘Most Respected CEO in Ghana's telecommunication industry.
This marked a night of double celebration as Zain Ghana Limited was also recognized as one of the top ten (10) most respected companies in Ghana.
The well attended Ghana’s Most Respected Company and CEO Awards 2010 Awards Ceremony was organized by the global accounting firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) and Ghana’s leading financial newspaper Business & Financial Times (B&FT).
The awards ceremony, attended by several CEOs, members of the diplomatic corps, civil society and leading politicians was held last Saturday at the State Banquet Hall in Accra.
The Awards, based on a peer review system conducted amongst Ghana’s CEOs is aimed at recognizing and rewarding excellence in corporate Ghana.
“The news came as a surprise to us,” Philip Sowah said, adding that “It gives us great pride to have our efforts in building a strong brand, commitment to corporate social responsibility and excellent business culture, recognized in this way. “
Vice President John Dramani Mahama, who was the guest of honour at the occasion, urged Ghanaian enterprises to take on opportunities of the booming oil and gas sector to diversify and expand their businesses.
