The Sarki Zongo of Garadima, Wednesday, thanked NPP presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo for demonstrating true commitment to national cohesion and unity by selecting Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, a northern Muslim as his running mate for the December polls.
The Sarki was speaking when Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia visited Garadima, on the third day of his Brong Ahafo tour.
Sarki Issah Abbah after expressing his delight at the presence of Dr. Bawumia in his community which is mainly a settler community in the Atebubu-Amanting constituency, said “I would kindly urge you to convey this message to Nana Akufo-Addo. Please inform him, that we of Garadima and indeed the Muslim community in this constituency are very grateful to him for selecting Dr. Bawumia as his Vice. Nana Akufo-Addo has indeed shown that truly he is committed to togetherness because there cannot be togetherness when some sections are left out. Nana Akufo-Addo has demonstrated to us that truly he is a unifier and wants national cohesion”.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in response stated that he was humbled by the acceptance and welcome accorded him. He indicated that the NPP was a truly national party with leaders and members from all religions, sects and tribes. Dr. Bawumia urged the people of Garadima to vote for the NPP on the basis of the plans the NPP has for all Ghanaians in the areas of Education, Jobs, Healthcare, Agriculture, and overall economic transformation.
The vice-presidential candidate urged the people of Garadima to demonstrate their support for the NPP by voting for Nana Akufo-Addo and the parliamentary candidate for the area, Mr. Cassius Osei-Poku who has a proven track record of bringing enormous development and improvements in the lives of the people of the area when he served as District Chief Executive.
Dr. Bawumia stopped at Garadima on his way to the Sene constituency on the third day of his Brong Ahafo tour.
Dr. Bawumia was accompanied on his tour by Mr. Charles Bintim, former Minister under the Kufuor Administration, Moctar Bamba, National Organizer of the NPP, Anthony Karbo, National Youth Organizer, Sheik T.B. Damba, 2nd National Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Stephen Ntim, former Vice-Chairman of the NPP, Madam Rita Asobayere, former National Women’s organizer of the NPP, Mr. Cassius Osei-Poku, parliamentary candidate for the Atebubu-Amanting constituency.
